  1. It will work, but not on mountain bike tires very well. You almost need above about 70 PSI in the tire, to force the tube against the inner wall of the tire, to get duct tape adhesive to seal air-tight. It is enough to get you home, but change the tube immediately. if you're in a place where you need to patch to just get home, the chances are you have a patch kit with you. most cyclists dont carry duct tape and a pump. everyone should have a small packet of tube scabs in their wedge though

  2. It's possible with Otto's response, but as he said very few bicyclists will be traveling with a roll of duct tape on them, as opposed to a standard bicycle tire patch kit.  If you're in a situation where you have no available patch kit, and absolutely MUST use duct tape remember that the tire will likely only hold a charge for about an hour and a half of straight riding for a woman, less for men.

  3. I never tried but this question came up before and 1 or 2 people swore they did it and it worked. If you do this, make it a temporary thing, not permanent.

  4. You can, but it wont keep the air in.

Dont **** around get a Rema patch kit
