Question:

Can you pay for items on Ebay by Paypal before the last 'get verified' stage is completed?

I've already completed 2 out of the 'get verified' stage, which is Add Bank Account and Summit Direct debit Agreement

The final one, Confirm bank account is not done yet as it asks for the price of 2 small deposits that Paypal has paid into my account, which should be in my bank in 3-5 days, and I only sent off for that 2 days ago

I've just bought an item off ebay for just over £10 and I've received e-mails confirming the money has been taken out and have had no problems so far, but will my money still get through to the seller?

  1. From what I understand it's entirely up to the merchant, but I would never give paypal my banking information, are you kidding? Who here uses Paypal and hasn't been defrauded?

  2. Yes, as long as the money shows as having gone from your PayPal account and the transaction shows as 'completed', the seller has been paid.

PayPal set a 'sending limit' on your account and you can see what that is just above the summary of your transactions.  If you hit that before you are fully verified, you'll find that you can't send any more money.

As soon as you enter the two amounts, the limit is lifted and you can pay again.

If you find this happens, just let the seller know.  They'll have been there themself at one point so should understand if there's any delay in you making your payment.

  3. Yes it will, you just can't withdraw money until you finish the process. Happy Shopping!
