  2. Yes, if they are full size.

    I suggest that you remove the green husk right away. I just give them a hard rub with my foot while they are still on the ground, the husk normally splits open releasing the nut.

    If you open the nut right away, you will find the nut meat white, kind of soft, a bit chewy, and GOOD.
