  1. No, that would be 20 trees.

  2. as  long as you add 10 more.

  3. Can you clarify that coz the maths don't add up.

It's either 2 rows of 5 or 5 rows of 2 ..can't see how you can do 4...doesn't add up

  4. Why not? If they are big trees though (when they are adult) then you should plant them at least 10 feet apart.

  5. no

  6. It is not simple as it looks

i would plant 11 trees in 6 lines each of 4 (i didnt need 24 tree) this is by using lines and not rows

how to is by using non parallel lines, each intersection subtract one from the total numbers of trees

this kind of  problem is studied in math subject called combiniatrics.

this subject is an advanced one. if u r not post graduate  student go back to the simple answer . no you need  20 tree

  7. sorry, but if you planted 10 trees in five rows, there could only be 2 trees in each row...not 4. =]

  8. um... no would be the obvious answer.

  9. You can plant trees in any configuration as long as you investigate the root structure of whatever tree you are planting and ensure you leave an adequette gap between them, and buildings/walkways

You do not want them competing for rootspace.

  10. noo...

  11. sure, you just need 10 more trees

  12. No. Because that would be 20 trees....5X4=20

  13. No.

  14. i am a sself professed math geek and looking forward to this answer! obviously a trick question. how could ten divided by 5 ever possibly equal 4????????

  15. Yes.

5 rows of 4 trees is possible.

Here we need a specific geometrical arrangement of the trees on the farm.

Here each tree is a part of 2 rows and we have to plant the trees in a shape of pentagonal star.

One tree will be planted at each tip of the pentagonal star where as one tree will be on the sides junction..

Now count the trees on the sides of pentagonal star starting from one tip to the other.

We find that there are 2 trees at the tips and 2 on side and this way we get 5 rows.
