  1. yes

  2. Most blackberries are 'planted' by birds who have eaten blackberries.  They will sprout at any time and, it seems, every time.  They grow quickly and spread very easily and quickly.  There is a tame blackberry that does not spread as much as the other varieties.  Make certain that you plant only that one.

  3. Plant them anytime.

  4. Better than the seeds is get a 2 ft stalk of BB.     If you can get it with the roots all the better otherwise take the length and lay it on the ground and bury the centre of it in the soil.   then water the heck out of it.  They love water.   roots will either form in the middle or one of the ends will continue to grow and down into the dirt to root itself.

That is why I said start with a hunk of rooted plant already(is much faster).

They are a westcoast weed.       They grow like mad in drainage ditches same places as willows, and are a mean plant(I speak of the prickly ones)   Plant them whenever.

  5. Yes, you can plant them in July, but you won't get any fruit until next year. Also, beware, blackberries spread FAST and can be a pain to get under control, so plant them somewhere you don't mind them spreading and they won't be a hazard to you or kids with their tendency to prick with their thorns!
