Question:

Can you plant java fern in sand

i know you can attatch it to rocks and driftwood, but can i put it in my sand and if you can, can you cover the rhizome up?

  1. I would try just sitting it on the sand and using a small rock to hold it down, I've got one in my tank thats not actually attached to anything but the other plants and moss around it kind of hold it in place.


  2. No, you can't cover the rhizome by any means, and Java Fern is best attached to driftwood. I use black cotton thread to attach the rhizome to the wood, and by the time it decays, the plant is attached.
