No.  You can however play Blue-Ray Discs on the Playstation 3.  Further, I understand Toshiba is looking to drop the HD - DVD line, conceding format victory to Blue-Ray.

Playstation 2 uses a red laser to read discs and Bluray discs as im sure you can tell by the name use a new blue laser to read the discs so they come out in a better quality picture. so to sum it up, no Bluray discs will not work in a playstation 2. I do think that they play in the playstation 3 though if that helps
