Can you play Madden 09 online with 2 people on the same PS3?

on the case it says 1-2 people online and i was just wondering if that meant 1-2 people on different PS3s or 1-2 on the same console. like i was wondering if you and your friend on the same console can play against somebody online.

Not online.  You also can't play each other online if you have 2 PS3s in the same house sharing the same internet connection (except in LAN type games).  Sucks, huh?

unfortunately it's a no, but i think it's a for a good reason...

I was playing vs. the pats and all the guy did was pass to moss, and i couldn't stop it. now imagine if one guy controls moss and one guy controls brady... how do u stop that?? the guy using moss will get open every single time, hands down.

however, u should be able to play 2 on 2, with a lobby for 2 on 2. it would be a whole lot of fun
