Can you play Rock band 2 with Rock band instruments?

Can you play rockband 2 with the first rockband instruments. Also can you play the first Rockband with a Rockband 2 guitar

Yeah you are able to play it with the rock band instruments.  I read it in a game magazine.

I'm pretty sure they're not going to make new instruments for Rock Band 2. So I believe we'll be able to use the same instruments for RB2.  I heard, however, that they would improve them a bit; for instance, they are adding symbols to the drums.

Yes, you'll be able to play with Rockband instruments, it'll be better this way because who's really wanting to buy $200 dollars in Guitar,Drum,Mike and Bass to play a video game when they already have this so they can just pay $50 for the game and there you go !

now i'm not sure if at the beggining they'll sell it by itself- or in a bundle but if they do not do this there clearly stupid so it's like 99.9% they'll sell the game buy itself or w/ things
