Can you play a DVD in a blue ray player?

I was wondering this because I have a ton of DVD's and I wanted to know if it was possible and you just wouldnt get the same quality of video as compared to playing a blue ray

You can play normal DVDs in a blu ray player.

Yes, you can, and as a matter of fact your dvds will be upconverted by the blu-ray player to High-definition.  This means that your standard definition dvds will look good on your big HDTV.
