Can you play against other people with the wii in different houses?

Lets say I have Mario vs Sonic olympics and internet connection on my wii and my friend has a wii and internet connection but doesn't have the Mario vs Sonic olympics game. Can I still play against them from a different house.

  4. No you can't. The wii doesn't have DS download play like the DS.

    It would be nice if it did though.

  5. No, they have to have the same game as you. Like Mario Strikers Charged, you both have to exchane the friend codes they give you in that game in order to play against one another! Hope i could help ;)

  6. Alas, no.  They have to have the game as well and a working internet connection.  

    ....Who uses the word alas?! o_O
