Can you play bue-ray disks on any dvd player?

Question

Me and my dad mabe a bet about it.

on a dvd that i got it had a phamplet in it that said that they could be played on any dvd player

but i want to know for sure thankyou

No, blue-ray discs can only be played on a blue-ray player. but normal dvd's can be played on a blue-ray. Maybe that's what the pamphlet said?

The only device that can play a blu-ray disk is a blu-ray player.  However your blu-ray player will up-convert a standard DVD.  This may be what was confusing you.

i am not entirely sure but i do believe that blue ray disks can play on any dvd player, but the dvd  would only be able to display graphics as good as the player.

No you can not play blu-ray disk on any dvd player you have to have a blu-ray dvd player other wise your blu-ray dvd won't play and they are usually $100-400 per blu-ray player.
