Can you play college football without having any football background in high school?

(this question is basically for football coaches and football players)

hi every body let me start be give you a little description of me. i am 16 year, 6ft 2.5 195 pound. i will be a freshman this year in a division 2 college and i would like to play football in college but the thing is i don't have any high school football background but, during my high school, i have been on the soccer, track, basketball (only in 9th grade) and wrestling. i also been doing judo and ju justu outside of school and i am pretty good at it matter of fact i was close to be on the junior Olympic team. i like to try new things i woul like to play football in college (wide receiver or kicker maybe) i am pretty fast ( 5th in the state on the 200m, 7th 100m, 3rd 400m ,20th high jump) i would like to have you advise to you think i can make it on a division 1 or 2 college?

  1. of course.. u can walk on.. and beause of your background in soccer you could be the KICKER... prob a pretty good one also!


  2. If you signed your NCAA clearinghouse waivers yo could probably try walking on to the team... just make sure your records are all up=to=date and and all of your forms are turned in

  3. Well technically you can....you would be called a walk-on. But i highly doubt that you will make the cut as football is a sport that needs years of fine tuning as it is a sport that is fast and full contact but is often decided by seconds....but that shouldnt stop you from trying something new....but i think once you get out there you might very well have a new appreciation for the sport....
