  1. Hi - I'm not answering your Q, I am asking a supplementary one - if I TRY to play my Canadian DVD on my UK DVD player will it just not work or will it damage the DVD and/or the DVD player.   Why is life so complicated??

  2. The power current is totally different in Canada than it is in the UK, and you need a special adapter/plug, for certain items.

DVDs, electrical goods, videos, etc, won't work, and that's frustrating.

My sister is Canadian, and often we would love to send her DVDs, electrical gifts etc of/from her family, but are unable to.

  3. yes if your dvd player is a multi region player

  4. Dvd's bought in Canada or the States are a different region to UK. If your dvd player is set to play all regions then it is not a problem. If your dvd is only set to play the region for UK then you can sometimes get the code to unlock it, and then it will play dvd's from another region. :)

  5. No.  The discs from Canada are region 1.  The region of your DVD player is region 2.  The only way you will be able to play your discs is in a Region Free player or in a computer with a DVD rom drive in it.

  6. no.

not unless your dvd player is region free.
