I play flute, and im in the marching band this Summer, and I was just wondering if I would play my flute with those fake nails you get put on, that won't come off for about a month.

Just please let me know.

Thank you.

  1. Anything is possible, but it will be tough, will get in your way, and will probably greatly lower your playing ability.

  2. Yes! You can play with long nails.  I have real natural fingernails that are about  1/4th an inch long and I play and teach the flute almost everyday.  I have never chipped a nail while playing the flute, and it has not slowed me down at all on fast pieces.  You shouldn't have any problems.

    Thanks for reading!

  3. I play flute too, and I'm guessing you can but it will probably be uncomfortable and they might chip

and since its maching band the music is probably faster meaning u have to move ur fingers faster and ur nails would make it harder to do that

  4. yeah you can. i have seen people play flute and clarinet with them on.[i play clarinet].
