Can you play kickball in the grass?

I am having a sports themed party for my child and I want to know has anyone ever played kickball successfully in grass. The grass is short and the ground below is hard construction clay.

Sure can, the grass you described seems ideal. we used to play kickball in the grass all the time when i was in elementary school.
