  1. All poker sites online are non-US.  Online poker is played all over the world, but for some strange reason Bush and his cronies decided to make it illegal for American companies to run this all-American game online.

But there is no law that makes it illegal for you to play and as of this moment no one has ever been arrested for playing poker online in the privacy of their own home.

hazeltine4 is completely wrong on this.  In fact the latest anti-gambling legislation that was passed in 2006 specifically opened up online horse betting completely.  American companies can now legally offer wagering on horse races directly to the American public.  This is just one example of completely legal online gambling.  So to claim it is illegal is just ignorance of the law.

  2. If you get caught, it is a Federal offense.  YOu get prosecuted.  The web sites do not.  All on-line gambling for money is illegal in the USA.  They are really cracking down on this lately.

  3. The popular poker sites that don't accept US players (i.e. Everest, Party Poker) simply won't allow US residents to sign up.  And the decision to disallow US players is solely due to the SITE'S discretion.  If you are still interested in playing online poker and live in the US, you'll have to sign up with one serving US residents.  There is a list of great sites at http://dagus-statistics.com/reviews.htm where you'll find deposit and withdrawal tips, as well as bonus codes to each site's best bonus.  Hope this clears things up ;)

  4. You can still play online poker, absolutely legally. There are sites like http://bettingwise.hit.bg/FulltiltPoker....

that still accept USA players. You will have to deposit with epassporte which is something like paypal

  5. You would see how "free" you are.
