    Sorry to hear about your wrist situation.  :(

    To be honest with you....   Yes, you can play the flute with a sprained wrist.... but it is not advisable.   Anything that is causing you pain, such as a sprain, should not be worsened by holding up the instrument for lengths at a time.

    You want your wrist to get well?  And in a minimal amount of time, so just take a break from it until you experience NO pain when playing.

    Sprains don't last but a week or so...  Let your wrist heal.  Your band director should understand and give you other work to do during band class.
