How long did it take? How many hours everyday did you practice? Was it worth it to you?

  1. I don't know how.

  2. I took Piano for a year and didn't really like it. I was ok tho. If you enjoy piano and stick with it, it shouldn't take you long at all to get good(I would say less than 2 years)

  3. you can roughly do a grade a year; but maybe give yourself a couple of years for the first grade.

it is said about 15 minutes a night up to grade 5 then after that at least 30

    good luck

  4. I'm 17, I've been playing for 12 years. I'm pretty good, I think. I'm looking at either a major or a minor in music right now (in addition to another major). When I was  first learning I did about 30 minutes a day. Now I do about 2 hours (generally more on weekends). During the school year I'm lucky if I can get in one hour. during weekdays.

It has probably been my life's most worthwhile long-term endeavor and has enriched my existance to a point I would not be able to concieve had I not taken this path. I've always been fascinated by music though, and I've gravitated towards classical music since I first heard it.

  5.     When I was Little I learned piano by ear, I asked my mom for lessons in the 8th grade...I loved it and I practice for fun at least 1 hour a day, It is awsome to be able to play from a book.

  6. I took piano for probably 5 years when I was in elementary school. At first I only had to practice 10 or 15 minutes a day, but as I got more advanced, it got up to half an hour a day. Apparently I had a lot of natural talent, and I was really good after 3 or 4 years. It could take longer depending on your natural musical ability.

I think it was definately worth it. It taught me how to read music really well and the piano is a really useful instrument for me since I'm a singer - now I can quickly learn the melody of songs and sort of accompany myself. (I've lost most of my ability after not practicing since fifth grade, haha.)
