  1. of course the snooker cue is just longer and thinner

  2. Yes. Most decent pool players use a snooker cue.

The small tip is much better for our pool than an american pool cue.

I use a snooker cue myself. So do all my teammates in my league team, and county team.

I think all of us use an ash cue. The largest tip size being 10mm. I think most of us have an 8.5mm or 9mm.

Basically, the better your potting is,the smaller tip size you can use. The smaller tip makes using side a little easier.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Using a snooker cue means that you will have a smaller tip and a smaller shaft. This works out ok with snooker balls mainly because the cue ball is smaller.

I do not recommend using a tip smaller then 11 mm due to deflection. When you have to hit a larger cue ball (as you usually find with a coin opt table in the US) with english (side spin) then you end up with a degree of "squirt" or deflection. This is due to the shaft "bending" somewhat and squirting the cue ball off to the opposite side of the tips contact. With this occurring you have to adjust your aim to allow for the deflection.

In 20yrs I played in leagues and then traveled from state to state in tournaments I have seen 2 people use cues with a tip diameter <11. I have 7 cues that I currently keep on hand for various reason (I really only use 3) and one of them is a "snooker cue". I hope this helps. This was a very good question.

  4. Sure there is not much difference between a snooker cue and a pool cue.  A snoooker cue may have a smaller tip but that is about all
