I was painting my nails on the end of my bed on my wood furniture and I put nail polish remover on the paper towel and i put my food on the wet spot and it pressed down on my furniture and it left a paper towel mark on the wood. How can I remove it? And my mom doesnt know about it.

  1. MAN,YOUR INTROUBLE,DO YOU HAVE ANY COLORED SHARPIE'S?TAKE THE ONE THAT MATCHES THE COLOR OF YOUR WOOD'S FINISH,DO A LITTLE AT A TIME SO IT WILL DRY&NOT SMEAR,IF YOUR GOOD YOU CAN COVER IT W/O LEAVING VERY MUCH OF THE MARK. THEN GO TELL YOUR MOM,BEFORE SHE FINDS OUT ON HER OWN,TRUST ME ,YOU'LL COME OUT AHEAD.

  2. Nail polish remover is essentially acetone.  The fact that your furniture finish was softened by the acetone tells me that the finish is neither varnish, nor urethane.  It is lacquer.   There is no perfect solution but if the paper towel impression did not remove the color, you may be able to "blend" it out.  Use clear nail polish, a very little on the brush at a time.  Work from the center to the outside with smooth even strokes holding the brush quite flat -- about 25 degrees above the work in the direction of travel of the brush.

I have used this technique to touch up old lacquered furniture for resale and although it is never quite perfect, it does make damage much less noticeable.

  3. White spirit.

  4. Try Murphy's wood oil soap.
