I got a new hardrive in my computer. The new hardrive does not have my ipod songs on it. If I purchase new songs from itunes, then sync my ipod will it erase my old songs and just put on the new ones. I don't want to lose my old songs. Or when I sync it will it just keep my old songs and also put the new ones on?

  1. if you want to try i think there is a way to copy your songs back onto your computer.

no. you should not loose your songs that are no longer there when you sync up.

i burned songs right from a cd and never had them in the computer either, never lost those until i deleted everything myself.

    take care.

  2. When you sync your iPod it should alert you that there are previously bought songs on there and it will ask you if you want to copy them to your library. However this will only work with bought songs. I think your best bet is to go get your old hard drive mount it from one of those usb shells grab all your music off of it and then re-sync your iPod. Or you could look into software that will suck the music off the iPod. Good luck!

  3. I would put the old song on a CD first.
