2. what would be the possible scenario if there is no photosynthesis?3. Can photosynthesis take place without the sun? if no, why not? 4. why can't animals undergo photosynthesis? 5. can there be life in this planet without photosynthesis?. please explain

  1. 1) It is the source for most of the energy used by most lifeforms

    2) All plants and most plankton would die. There would be immediate massive die offs of most terrestrial herbivores and all aquatic life. Most humans would starve within a year or less as food reserves ran out.

    3) It is most efficient when driven by the specific spectrum of light given off by the sun, but could work with any other form of light to some degree.

    4) Plant cells are jam-packed with the organelles that allow photosynthesis to take place, and they have to have a special, rigid structure. Animal cells neither have the room for these many organelles, nor can they be rigidly structured.

    5) Life could still continue by using other sources of energy: thermal energy from deep-sea vents and other geographic features, or chemical energy stored in various natural compounds.
