  1. 1.  Football played in Canada, the US and Australia all have roots in rugby.

    2.  The import rule is perhaps the biggest change.  Prior to that a team could have any number of American players.

    3.  The combination of speed, large bodies and sudden impact means players will get hurt.

    4.  These are the only professional players of football in Canada.  CFL pays about 10% of what the NFL does.

    5.  I was built around tv with lots of time for breaks to dash off to the fridge or wherever.  Plenty of time between plays to review what just happened.

    6.  Anything that isn't American has a hard time catching on in the US unless there is a great deal of money to be made from it.

  2. WOW! Pretty lengthy questions!

    1. How is Canadian football related to games played in other countries?

The most related game is of course the NFL, with their "minor league" in the world league played in Europe. However, that game is played with varied rules. An couple of examples would be different field dimensions, and played with 4 downs.

2.How has the game of Canadian football changed since it was invented?

There has been numerous rule changes, but if you are looking at how the actual game has changed since its consception -  the major change was that originally the league was a rugby league.

3.Why are football injuries so common?

Injuries are commonplace in football, due the size of players and the actual physical contact.

4.How do Canadian football players' salaries compare to salaries of other Canadian football athletes?

Often times Candian players are paid a little less than other players in the league as generally the "imports" are brought in to play more of the "glory" postions which are on a scale usually higher paid postions (eg - quarterback)

5.Why is football such a popular sport to watch?

In my opinion football is popular because it is generally a higher scoring game (as compared to soccer or even hockey to a point). With any play having the possibilty of scoring.

6.Why does the CFL(Canadian Football League) have a hard time catching on in the US?

The American football market is dominanted by the National Football League in the United States and therefore does not get a lot of exposure.

  3. 1-cfl is not related to games played in other countries except for using a ball on earth.

    2-

3-the players have exerted their bodies to a point where injuries occur.

    4-

5-knowing how the game is supose to be played, and watching  to see if the game is played in that manner.

6-the us  does'nt want a product that competes with its market. having americans watching two different kinds of simmaler games would be very confusing.
