I'm American but all the answers saying Americans are stupid and lazy are more or less correct.

There is no typical American, but  there are some traits which are to be found in almost every American

Some uncommonly strong positives in US culture (some may disagree these are positive traits):

Charity-giving and civic mindedness

Prosperity so diffuse that any reasonably intelligent person can have a tolerable material lifestyle without working much / conforming

Attachment to 2nd amendment rights

Endemic politeness and a generally cheerful, practical, empirical outlook

Some bizarre things -

General disinterest in other cultures

Blatant hypocrisy on 'sin' issues (nudity, alcohol, etc.)

Inability to differentiate between quality and 'symbols' of quality in commercial goods..

LOL....trying to keep it somewhat  light humored.

Male- Greedy and selfish.

Both- spoiled d**n rotten.

100 years ago:  Female, good housekeeper, hard worker, rise to challenge (WWI), and womens rights

Male:  enjoys challenge, wants to prove he is best, hard worker

now: Female: Vain hoe, feminist in good ways, but doesnt want true independence, but pretty hard working

Some body that is afraid of there own goverment. I dont really get why but for some reason they seem to think its wrong to go against there goverment for some reason. That should not happen in a country that claims to be "home of the free". If you do not like what your goverment does protest it and vote for the other guy, dont be afriad. It doesnt make any sense to me.

well,lets see...Americans are red yellow black white and brown.their liberal and conservative. their short and tall,skinny and fat,and every religion you can think of.thats America,the greatest country on earth.

You must be living in a cave thinking that Americans can be stereotyped.

The freedom afforded us is wide ranging and therefore

makes us a mix of all sorts.

We are as diverse as the clothes you see being worn in

a shopping center.

We actually do not like "uniforms" and only conform on

Not My idea just common stereotypes.  Cannot say that male or female there is much difference in attitude. Rude, has contempt for Liberals some Americans do anyway, Votes for one of two parties and complains about them both. Then does it again. Also appears to mock people when suggestions about an alternative economic system like Communism is suggested instead of voting for the same parties.
