Can you please explain why Room service in a hotel needs to be available for 24 hours a day ?

Sometimes you just crave an open-faced roast beef sandwich with white bread, mashed potatos, gravy, and broccoli at 4am.  What do they expect me to do?  Do they want me to go out and cook it for myself?  I'm not gonna cook it myself.  You cook it!

A hotel is supposed to provide comfort and convenience to it's boarders, and so room service must be there to give customers all the things they could need at any time of day

People work on different schedules. Some people eat later than others. Some people get up earlier than others. Sometimes it is just safer to have food delivered than go out and get something in the middle of the night.
