  1. there's a great book called 101 TV Free activities for kids. Masses of great ideas, alot don't cost anything or very little and they are grouped by age.

  2. Bubbles, balls, story time at the public library,  walks looking for a bug  or whatever else it is, blocks, kids music CD's for "dance parties", using a blanket or sheet to put over a table so the kids can hide underneath, extra large crayons, extra large paintbrushes and washable paint (great outdoor activity in their swimsuits, too!).  If they don't own a water table.  Fill a pail or two of water and use plastic cups and spoons.  Use a little antibacterial soap before you add water and it's a lot of fun.  Any pretending activity.  Making animal noises.  Singing songs.

  3. Spray some shaving lotion on a place mat or plate etc.. and let them draw in it w/ their fingers.  Another thing to do is pour some sugar and flour in a cake pan and they can draw in this with their fingers or give them some safe things  to draw lines and other shapes in them.

Tape paper on the table so it covers the entire table and let them draw on it.

If you live in a place that has snow. Bring some snow in and put it in the sink and add some food coloring to it for fun and let them scoop it into bowls and cups.

  4. Building blocks

  5. Finger painting, coloring, legos, dress up,

  6. Watch a sing-along movie, most little kids are easily distracted by fun music and the tv, put both together and you're good.

Finger painting is messy, but they have that new product by crayola? that the paint only marks the paper.

Coloring is always a safe bet with supervision.

Blocks are fun for all sorts of ages.

    Good luck!

  7. finger paint with pudding - color with markers, blocks, stacking and knocking down, eating! (that's my two year old grandson's favorite activity!).  rolling ball back and forth, pulling and pushing.  etc.

  8. coloring, dancing, a trip to a petting zoo, finger paints, playdoh, bouncy balls( make sure they dont want to eat them) reading books, get a big sheet (really big)of white paper and put it on hard flooring and let them color on the ground. Sidewalk chalk and all that stuff.

  9. Check out www.perpetualpreschool.com it's full of wonderful ideas!
