Can you please give your reflections on this quote?

You can never fully discern God's will!

You can only learn what He allows you to know about Him. It would be totally useless to try to interpret and decipher each act of God in our lives. We can be concerned by a lot of things that we, at times, forget the main concern which is simply TO FOLLOW HIM! We trouble ourselves with things we have no really concern about.

"What does it matter to you? You are to follow me."

I was actually thinking whether to put it here or in R&S but anyways please tell me what you think.

  1. there is something in your life that you don`t need to question but just understand. pretty much meaningful ......just listen and understand and do not argue.......it`s applicable to little things in your life. somehow in today`s world, the qoute`s meaning is being forgetten and taken for granted....

  2. hmmm that's an interesting quote. I have to say that I personally think that it means to not question God's will. After all he knows what's best for us. At times we want to say, "Why is this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this?" etc) But I think that he only gives us things that we can handle. All problems make us better people, better to be able to deal with whatever life throws at us in the future. We learn from our choices. Everything happens for a reason. So I think when he gives us obstacles it's for a reason and we shouldn't question it. After all he knows what's best for us.

  3. It means follow without question ... have faith.

A shorter translation would be "DANGER".

  4. I think a lot of people begin to lose hope and belief in God because their life is not where they want it to be, today!  They are in pain, or alone and they do not understand why our great God wants to put us through that anguish.   I think more people just need to surrender themselves to him, trust in him that he will lead you along the right path to your own personal greatness.  And in some sense of things, we need to go through that pain and heartache to learn more about ourselves, and to appreciate the wonderful prize on the other side.

    Thanks for reading!

  5. I think...that you are supposed to realize that if you think positively positive things will happen.  You cannot worry about little things.  You cannot "make" things happen.  You cannot control destiny, just imagine positive things and let Him take care of the rest.

  6. Will, fate, free choice. How do we ever fully know?

I don't believe that God has totally planned our lives. Or we don't have free choice. I believe his will is that we be the best we can be and part of that is to do his will.- which isn't all that miromanged down to getting a parking spot. It is more general.

I and others are often out of God's will but he doesn't d**n us to h**l, whatever that is. God is all Good and He knows us very well.

If I felt that I didn't have free choice then why bother???

  7. it's like that was written for me exclusively.

I wrote it down on my journal to give further thought to it later.

  8. The Protestant Reformation spawned new views towards Christianity.  The corruption of the Roman Catholic Church through indulgences and abuse of Papal Authority created a desire to develop a personal relationship with God devoid of distractions.  It suggests to embrace a journey of the worship of God.

  9. God's thoughts are said to be higher than our thoughts.

"Let this Mind abide with you, which was also in Christ Jesus" is Saint Paul's Holy Christ Self demonstration of Son of Godness.

Even so, some things are not known to the Son of God, but only to the Father.

However, we know God's Will toward us:  it is to work for our sanctification, and that we become the virtues of the Holy Spirit:  kindness, meekness, and so forth.

"The Great Divorce," C. S. Lewis, portrays a kind of nightly Pilgrim's Progress in the little passage of dying or ascending daily.  Highly worthwhile.

Similarly, "Expecting Adam," Martha Beck, Ph.D., is a modern example of being drawn to God in the midst of modern horrific conditions.

"Eyes of the Tailless Animals," Soon Ok Lee, likewise.
