  1. I see ads on tv for taxmasters and other law firms offering to help with problems such as your. I would look in your local phone book for a law firm in your area that specializes in irs problems.

  2. You're better off simply calling the number on the IRS collection notice. In most cases you can quickly and easily setup a payment plan.

  3. look for a non profit credit counselor, & in the goverment pages of your phone book for simmilar credit advisors.

  4. well, I have very bad news for you.

no company can eliminate or lower the amount of tax you owe.  however you can probably find a company that will help you make payment, but they arent cheap.

the unfortunate bottom line is that people owe what they owe,

and the longer it takes you to pay, the more expensive it gets.

the best thing to do is pay and pay quickly.

    good luck.

  5. You don't anyone else to do this for you.  Do it yourself.

IF you owe then complete Form 9465 Installment Agreement request.  Any balance up to $24,999 divide by 60 months and that is the minimum monthly payment IRS will accept; IRS charges a one time USER FEE of $105.00 (you mail the payments in) or $52.00 USER FEE if you elect Direct Debit Installment Agreement.  You could qualify for reduction user fee of $43.00 but IRS will send you forms.

When you don't make an effort to pay and you ignore the IRS then IRS will garnish your wages.

IF you owe OVER 25K then also provide Form 433-F Collection Information Statement with your installment agreement request.

Or contact IRS at 1-800-829-0922 to set up and installment agreeement.

You must be in full compliance (have all returns from 2002 thru 2007 filed.)

don't hire anyone to do this for you, if you don't have money to pay IRS then how will you pay someone to do this for you.

  6. You can save all the money by contacting the IRS at (800) 829-1040 and setting up an Installment Agreement.  This will allow you to make monthly payments and the IRS will not levy your wages or bank account while you are making the payments.

Or, you can visit the IRS web site at www.irs.gov and download Form 656, Offer in Compromise.  This is a program the IRS has to let someone who owes back taxes to pay less than the full amount they owe.

Going to one of the affordable companies as you called them will charge you several hundreds or maybe thousands of dollars to do the same thing I just told you for free.

    Hope this helps.

  7. go to irs.gov and call the collections department.  Let them know how much you can pay on your debt and they will work with you.  You don't need to get a company to help.  The only way a company can help is if you have at least 20% of the debt you owe in cash to pay today.  If you don't then your best bet is to work with the IRS on a payment plan.  They will keep future returns to apply it towards your debt until you zero it out.
