How do I crop out a person from a picture and add it to another picture?

  1. Use a selection tool to select the person.

    Once selected, choose "copy."

    Now, open the other picture.  Choose "paste."

    Easy, huh?


  2. You'll need to spend a lot of time selecting them to get the selection done nicely and completely..  I'm thinking of Photoshop here (or Elements), so your editing program may be different.

    After you select the basic outline of the person, zoom in and start moving around the edges.  To add to your selection, hold down the Shift key and select more.  To remove part of the selection, hold down the Alt key and select to subtract.  Keep doing this until you have a really nice selection of the person you want.

    In the other picture, paste.  This'll create a new layer with them in it.  Use the move tool to move them into position and resize them accordingly.  If they have to be standing behind someone you may have to select part of the person they're going to be behind and create a new layer of that segment of them to put in front of the person you're adding.
