Can you please tell me if this is true?

Question

Are Filipinos part African American? The reason why I'm asking is because today I went to the store and I saw this African American man speaking to another Filipino in the Filipino language. How I found out was the Filipino guy said to the African American guy "Your the only one that knows how to speak from my country the Philippines". Then he laughed. Also I did notice that Filipinos have the same facial features as African Americans, many are dark and have the wide noses. So is this true? No offense intended I'm just researching other cultures. Thanks!!

the seas have been widely traveled.  Most Filipino people are Asian/Spanish.

Here on Panay the dark skinned Phillipinos are called Aeta's (E' TAH'S).

Filipinos are Asian.

The African-American guy must have learned and been speaking the language for a considerable time that's why he sounded fluent.

Also, notice that the features are not in any way the same. (look clooooossssseeeeerrrr) lol

Filipinos have brown to light brown skin color, African-Americans have darker skin tone.

no offense to anyone too lol (my bf's British-South African, i'm a Filipina)

we don't have wide noses, flat noses yes. hahaha

dark? nope,we're just brown but not as dark as the Africans. (no offense meant, i'm just answering the question)

he could have been in the Philippines or he could have met someone from the Philippines, or maybe married to one. the possibilities are endless.

we belong to the Malay and Indonese Race. we could be mistaken for a malaysian and indonesian but not african american.

if that's true, it should be easier for filipinos to go to america then.

As far as I know, we Filipinos are not part African Americans.  However, if this gentleman does know how to speak our local language it could be because he lived in the Philippines for some time.  We maintained Clark Air Base for many years.  As to the similarity in facial features, this could be attributed to inter-racial marriages.

You know I don't know. I also notice the same facial features on some Filipinos also. I have friends that are from the Philippines but their not dark though. So probably not.

No, search for Malaysians and Indonesians, they look like filipinos. Its because they are from the neighbouring countries...ASIA

no completely different countries and cultures !!!!!! Filipinos are closer to being Asian than anything
