Can you please tell me - what are the procedures to start a New Company in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India?

I need the details of documentation, registration and license to be obtained

1. Select a good and attractive name for your Company. Get all stationery required, including letter pads, seals etc.,

2. If yours is a Private Limited Company, or Partnership Company you have to prepare a MOU. Submit the same to " The Registrar Of Companies "

3. Locate your VAT Office ( which is decided by the PIN code of the location ).

4. Apply for registration of your Firm for VAT and getting TIN number, in prescribed form, with Rs. 500.00 one time registration fee. Enclose all the documents needed ( see the annex of the form ), along with your / partners photograph. Pay the deposit demanded by your LVO.

5. Simultaneously register for Professional tax and Service Tax.  Pay the annual fee.

6. Get all certificates, take photocopies, keep them in VAT file. Display the Originals at your place of Business.

7. Start your Business. Keep your books of account, up to date. Pay the tax before the 20th of next month honestly.

8. Good luck to the new venture.
