Can you please think of some fair rules? Why are they fair?

rules are usually meant to insure the safety of society > hence, we elect representatives to make rules that we can all live by.  We as a society, decide the penalties for murder, rape, stealing, running a red light in  your auto, perjury, burglary, pedophilia, & many other offenses which harm us.  

It's considered the hallmark of our US society to embrace  rules that support human rights, & punish those who don't .  To treat everyone equally, & to banish discriminatory practices based on s*x, ethnicity, race, or origin.  

If something is for the good of society, it is in our best interest to work in harmony > to all get along with each other.  And that is what rules /laws are meant to promote.
