It is in English, however I would like it to be "dumbed down" for me. Here it is:

“How unfortunate, and how much is it to be regretted then, that whilst we are encompassed on all sides with avowed enemies and insidious friends, that internal dissensions should be harrowing and tearing our vitals.”

  1. Washington was lamenting that, despite the early America being surrounded by enemies, the most destructive force acting was that from internal disagreements.


  2. How upsetting it is that even though we are surrounded by enemies and people that pretend to be our friends but are really plotting against us, that fighting and arguements within our group threatens to destroy us.

    Basically, he wants who ever he's addressing to look at the bigger picture and stop all the infighting and focus on pulling together to defeat their collective enemy.
