I assume you mean plug it into any extension jack in your house?

Absolutely.  Any jack in your house *should* work...but make sure there's a dial-tone when you plug it in, just to make sure.

The only exception is if you have a home-office that has multiple phone numbers, then you have to make sure it's the right (like upper or lower) jack on the wallplate.

If you mean extension as in longer cord, you can get little plugs to connect 2 wires into one longer one -- so that'd be a yes too.
