  1. not a good idea, remove the hardwood floor. Dont be in such a hurry. Hope it isnt glued.  


  2. anything can be done, however this would not be recommended, it would depend on how much concrete, what is supporting the floor, what kind of wood floor it is

  3. No.  the chemicals in the concrete will cause the floor to rot.  You never want  wood that has not been pressure treated to be in continuous contact w/ concrete

  4. How much concrete are we talking about? One half inch mortar bed to set tile in? A four inch thick slab? I wouldn't recommend pouring concrete over a hardwood floor, partially because the floor may not hold up to the extra weight of the concrete, partially because the wood will leach the water from the concrete while it is setting up resulting in  weakened concrete. Will you b putting a vapor barrier between the wood and the concrete?

  5. depends what is under the floor. If it is more concrete Ok but the new concrete needs to be at least 3 inches thick
