its sold for frogs tanks but it it ok submerged

  1. Not really. The particles of moss can easily clog up the filter system after it's been submerged for a period of time. If it is not to be submerged, attached to some rocks, okay. But not if it is to be submerged.


  2. I wouldn't put it in the tank itslef, but if you want to lower the pH, it is a perfect addition to the filter.  Just be sure you're buying untreated moss.  Be sure to start out with a small amount of peat and work your way up as you determine how it affects the pH.

  3. the peat content in sphagnum will tend to lower the ph

    you might want to include some coral gravel to balance the ph

    the particles that float free from the moss will always floating , semi- submerged and visible

    not likely to clog the filter once it is settled in though at first there will be a lot of free floating particles
