i don't think that the frame and suspension could handle the weight of a large diesel engine. the only chance to that is find a old buick Rivera one of their year modles had a diesel engine. or volts wagon has a diesel.

No it won't run on diesel and you will s***w up the engine. diesel is not refined enough to run in a normal car. anormal car doesnt have enough compression.

I cannot think of any reason that you would want to go through the expense to replace the engine in a 12 year old car with a diesel engine. As far as if you can put a diesel engine in a 1996 Caprice, yes you can, as long as you can get Jay Leno to back this scenario. Cheaper to buy a new car with a diesel engine.
