Can you put a female Betta fish and a male Betta fish together?

Also after they mate you have to take the female out of the tank, not the male.  The male takes care of the babys for the first day they are alive, then take him out.  Really you should not keep two Betta's together.  Only if mating. Then you have to seperate them anyways.
