  1. NO. Lovebirds are anything but "lovey" birds. They're very territorial and can be down right vicious when it comes to other birds. Unless the birds have been together for a long time, they get along well while out of the cage, and you have a HUGE cage, I highly, highly suggest keeping them separate. I've seen someone try to put a new lovebird in with 2 cockatiels thinking the lovebird would be the one being picked on if any of them, regardless of what I told them. Within 2 days of that brilliant idea, they had lost both tiels and were less than impressed with their new lovebird.

  2. My advice is "NO",unless they have been brought up to-gether,then it is "NO".

Lovebirds are nothing like their name suggests,it will attack your Cockatiels mainly round the beak area and will go as far as to tear their beaks off.

I am speaking from experience of when I first started in bird keeping over 50.yrs.ago,I have bred a number of varieties of Love birds and they all have the same trait.

Lovebirds are delight full little critters but they are not the birds that their name suggests, they will attack any intruder or stranger of their own species and will kill them,if they can-not get away and that applies to other species.

So don't put it with your Cockatiels for their own safety your birds may be bigger but they will still attack.

  3. I've seen it done before but I'd look into how to introduce birds properly first.

  4. Hi,

I have done it my self but you need a large aviary as what ever you do the birds will still fight. If however the cockatiels have been together for a while they may gang up on the lone lovebird.

  5. yea there both pretty loving birds they'll probally exept her off the back good luck~
