  1. Absolutely !!  BUT,  if you happen to put one up that was ' in a negative light' or plain crude.......I Don't Think Sooooo !!!  Defamation would be costly in Court,  unless of course you're rich enough not to care.  Still could be costly.  Good Luck.

  2. Please as hard as it might be to you, don't do it.

I asked the police if it was okay to put up the pictures of local s*x offenders at school bus stops in our area without releasing the name or address of the person, but just their pictures so if the children are approached they will know to run from them.

There answer was to not do it and that I could open myself up to legal action by doing so, even though the person was convicted of the crime and is on web sites.

Save your self a problem and forget who ever you were going to do this to, I'm sure they aren't worth any further problems to you.

  3. don't do it, unless you have money to burn for a lawsuit.

  4. Slander cannot be presented in the form of a photograph.

Slander is a "False and malicious statement about someone that damages their reputation."

A photograph showing someone committing a crime cannot be slanderous, because it is not false, even if it damages their reputation.

However, if you post a portrait of someone and add text that says "This person committed a crime," that could be considered slander if in fact the person had not committed a crime.

  5. Your question lacks details and is incomplete.

However it would depend on the context of the picture.  If it's just a picture of a person with no comments by you or anyone, nor anything that could defame their name?  Shouldn't be a problem.

If it hurts their reputation, who they are, or says things about them that aren't true, or the caption does any of that, then yep. That's slander.

  6. I believe slander is spoken. So an image or even text wouldn't qualify.

Libel is what you'd have to worry about.

  7. Generally no because your view of that person will not correspond to that persons belief about there own view.

  8. no becky c.
