You can get a 22 caliber silencer from several manufacturers, but they are going to cost at least $300 and up plus the $200 tax paid to the ATF.  Check out http://www.subguns.com for more info including legal advice and locations of dealers in your state.  Silencers are only legal in 38 of the states, so check out your laws first.  Check out http://www.silencertalk.com/legality.htm .

Integral silencers on air rifles and paint ball guns are legal without paying the $200 tax, but they have to be made by the manufacturer as a permanent part of the barrel to be legal without getting ATF authorization.

You can make a fake silencer out of solid PVC stock with a hole drilled through the center.  The most common threads used in the USA for small muzzle threads are ½-28.  You can find fake silencers here; http://www.mfiap.com/airsoft/acce/silenc... .

For what it is worth, those who say silencers are illegal in the USA are idiots and liars.
