I would like to buy a swimming pool, but im not sure if i can put it on a turkey mound, when we first moved in, it was'nt here, our property was flat, and they just put it in, we have no other place to put a pool but on top of this mound, so is there any harm in this? will it cave in from the weight of the water? please let me know.

Thanks.

  1. No

  2. You definitely cannot do this.  Far, far too much weight.  You're not even supposed to drive a car over your septic.

  3. You can do just about anything that you want with enough money and engineering (support to span or carry the weight).  Builders put swimming pools on the top floor of hotels and sky scrapers.  There are concrete and steel trusses that span amazing weight in order to transfer loads.

We have the technology on the market today to do some amazing things but the question should be, "Do you want to risk cutting through what ever you put on top of the system in order to get to the septic system should you encounter a problem?".

People sometimes put cement over their septic tank for example and then get upset when a septic company has to bring a concrete saw just to cut access to pump and service the tank.  I will be happy to answer any questions.

Our website and laboratory are also available to explore new solutions on the market today.  Vince@DadsSeptic.Net
