So lets say you want to air condition a room. But, the room has no window to put an air conditioner in. Is this at all possible? Like, is there any type of air conditioner you can set up in a room, without using a window? Thanks.

  1. The window allow for the condensate to leak into the great outdoors (there is a pipe in the closet where an air conditioner unit is and it is called a condensate pipe. You would need to rig a way for the air conditioner to be sitting over something to catch the liquid or you will have mold and other issues as well. Make sure you allow the room to air out every few days to give it some fresh air it will get stagnate. You also need to clean out the bucket that the liquid is going into every week or so to avoid mold issues and the propagation of it in your room.

  2. You can buy an air conditioner that sits on the floor and cools the room. I know they sell them at Lowes. The other option is put a hole in the wall for a window air conditioner.

  3. You are going to have to have some place to exhaust the heat from the cond. coil.  Got to the Mr. Slim website and see if you can match your application with some of the ones listed. They have free standing A/C units that have an exhaust hose and the drains are recirculating, check out Home Depot.

  4. Absolutely!  There is a type of air conditioner which mounts on the wall.  These are known as Ductless a/c units, and mitsubishi makes one.  (link below)

all that is needed for these is the pipes run from the condenser outside to the unit inside!  This is NOT a DIY project, as the lines are refrigerant lines, and will need to be brazed by a professional, and then charged with refrigerant.  not to mention the wiring of the condenser outside!

the cheaper way to go would be a small, portable air conditioner, available at Home Depot, and other stores...  link below.

there are also through-the-wall air conditioners, which require that you knock a hole in the wall, the size of a window.

The last 2 suggestions are much cheaper...  hopefully one of these helps you out!

  5. sure there is .

  6. You would have to cut a hole in the wall. Air Conditioners work by taking heat from a room then shooting the heat outside. So the answer to your question is 'no'.
