  1. It would depend on the dress. Davids Bridal offers cap sleeves on all of their strapless dresses.

  2. Absolutely! Even David's Bridal can do it.

  3. I was just at a material place yesterday that sold lace sleeves for wedding dress to make it easy to be attached or to look attached.  Good Luck to you.  Congradulations

  4. Sure, but I think the main problem would be finding fabric that matches. Take your dress to an alteration shop and ask. Many formal wear shops do alterations.

  5. if it is strapless it is meant to be strapless

  6. A talented seamstress might be able to.  But, it depends on the style of dress.  Some strapless gowns look better when cap sleeves are added and other just look stupid with them.

Make sure you see a good seamstress, so that the sleeves look like part of the dress and not like they were just stuck there on a whim!

  7. I think that would be VERY challenging, however you could  have cap-sleeve shrug made to put over it.

    Good Luck

  8. Go to David's Bridal site & see how they do it.

An experienced tailor or seamstress can do it very easily.

  9. some bridal stores will do it... I got my dress at david's and they had some sleeves that were just kind of a cute meshy- lacey material ( sounds tacky, but look it up on their website) i think you should ask the place where you got your dress fomr if they will do it, or ask around to other stores...

  10. most placeless that you ordered your gown from can cap your sleeves.

  11. If you're just wanting something like what David's Bridal offers, which is basically a wide strap--then it's relatively easy.  IF you're wanting to turn a strapless dress into a modest, temple worthy dress for a religious ceremony (some Orthodox Jewish temples, and LDS weddings) then it's doable, but more challenging.  The toughest part is getting matching fabric--hopefully you've got extra on the hem.  If you're ordering the dress, you can also have the designer add the sleeves to the dress as its being sewn in the designer's shop--that's the EASIEST way to do it.  It can be done after the fact, but it looks like they were added.

  12. Yes, you can.  I did just that for my wedding this past May.  I got my dress and sleeves at David's Bridal and then went to a private seamstress and had her attach them.  She sewed the sleeve to the front of the dress and then had buttons in the back so that I could have it unbuttoned until I got it on and then once it was on my mom buttoned them in the back before zipping up my dress.  It's hard to put a dress on if the cap sleeves are sewn on both front and back.
