Can you put electric guitar strings on an acoustic?

i mean, its obviously possible, but is it recommended? and will it sound decent?

  2. I recommend (constantly) Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Series strings to all my students and other musicians. These strings were designed for both acoustic and electric guitars and provide a very rich, deep tone with clear mid- and high-tones. They feel fantastic. How they sound is inevitably going to be matter of personal preference, but I have not had one complaint yet. I use them on all of my guitars whether they're acoustic, electric or acoustic/electric.

    Find them at all the internet music stores, but I recommend:

    They cost about $17.95 a set, but will last 10 times longer than other strings so,  in the end, it's a wash. These are imported (Austrian), premium,  professional quality flatwound strings.

    it doesn't sound as good but it is easier to press down the strings
