  1. Yes. They have what are called gable fans that you install in the wall of an attic instead of through the roof.


  2. If you have a gable roof, looks like an A, then you have the option of gable vent fans. If you have a hip roof, where the roof looks the same around the top of the walls. You can install a whole house fan. You can install this in your garage ceiling by framing it in. If you want to just cool the attic open either the garage doors or windows and this cools the attic. If you want to circulate/cool the whole house close the garage doors/windows and open the windows in your house, saves lots of energy in the spring and fall no need for AC even in Florida.

  3. If you want to install a roof fan, you can remove the old turbin or gravity vent and replace with same size fan. Of course you'll have to get in the attic to wire it.

  4. If you have gable-end vents you may be able to fit one in the vent without too much cutting.  Then you woudn't have to cut into the roof.  But you'll likely have to cut something somewhere.
