Can you put oxi-clean in a rug doctor without harming the machine.?

I would NOT use it in a machine--it is a suspension but I can still clog the machine.  When I've used it, I spray it on the rug first, then use the machine.

no it shouldn't but the best way to clean your carpet is to pretreat the rug with the oxy clean. Put it in a spray bottle and spray the rug first. Then put a cup of white vinegar into hot water and put that into your machine your carpet will stay clean longer. Soap leaves a sticky residue that sits in your carpet and attracts dirt. Good luck

I would recommend that you use only the products specified by the manufacturer's usage instructions as to not damage the machine and nullify your warranty (especially if this is a rental).  I would also imagine that OxyClean might inhibit the cleansing enzymes that are in the Rug Doctor solution.

Rug Doctor distributors (and online) offer a variety of detergents that are formulated for different applications.  You may find one that is oxygenated.

Besides, Rug Doctors are pretty effective by themselves because they use hot water to clean.

Corrosion will occur in time if you put any kind of bleach in a shampooer or steam cleaner .

Treat the area before shampooing if you must.

Yes, I have done so many times - just premix the oxi-clean with very hot water to solution prior to adding it to other items in the machine.

Yes. I have combined it with hot water and other cleansers and it doesnt do anything. We own a steam machine and it didnt do anything but foam up a bit more. just make sure you dissolve it in the water real well first.

First test it on the rug for any bleaching affect.

Second, Oxi-Clean is a powerful oxidizer. It could cause corrosion to the internal parts.
