  1. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! Goldfish are coldwater fish while parrot fish are tropicals. You wrote that your fish has huge eyes; if he is a celestial, telescope, bubble-eye, or any other swimming or vision-impaired fish he can only be kept with others of his species. If you put him in with a parrotfish, he will die.

  2. I think you might mean a parrot cichlid.

Either way, the answer is no. Both species are carnivorous and aggressive. They will make a meal of your goldfish.

  3. Parrot Fish are saltwater species, and goldfish are not... NO!

Blood Parrot Cichlids are a hybrid combination of a Midas Cichlid (Amphilophus citrinellus)  and a Redhead cichlid (Cichlasoma synspilum)

    OR

The green severum (Heros severus) with the red devil cichlid (Amphilophus labiatus).

As you can see, theres a disposition as to what fish you're holding. Though its fair to say you're keeping one of the latter 2 in the list.

Firstly Goldfish release excessive amounts of toxins in their sediment, require monstrous amounts of space compared to the "Average fish" and will do poorly with anything but other goldfish (for the sake of the other fish, usually not the goldfish).

For the hybrid blood parrots, their genetic alterations place them into a high risk category of fish. They do not often reach their adult stage of life, when they do they still expire "early" compared to their parenting counterparts. They easily pickup parasites, bacterial infection, and all around illness.

I would feel comfortable saying they "could" live together in a high capacity aquarium (like 200+ gallons)... But prisoners can live in a 4'x4' damp dark room. Nothing suggests they will thrive.

I would discourage even purchasing the blood parrot on moral grounds.

If you have the capacity to hold them, and you are interested in large south american cichlids. The Midas is a absolutely fantastic fish.

    In Summary:

No. You cannot keep these fish in the same tank.

  4. NO! Goldfish are coldwater and parrotfish are tropical and are agressive! Plus fancy goldfish with big eyes like that need to live in a tank with no decorations or gravel. B/c they could tear there eyes on it and it could get infected. If you can't care for it, put an add in the classifieds and say he needs at least a 20 gallon tank with no decorations.
