  1. Probably wouldn't be the best idea for the rear wheel even though it is possible. QRs can slide and the chain needs to be tensioned.

    Just make sure your dropouts are at least 4mm thick.


  2. Quick Releases can handle amazing levels of tension. Although if you're a real sprinter with a massive front chainring on your SS I'd advise getting a tugnut or something. for example the Surly Tuggnut, which can be found here (on the left):

  3. Skewers can be used on any wheel that will accomodate them, i.e., if you have a hollow axle shaft, you're good to go.   The frame is more or less irrelevant to the decision.

  4. No problem at all.
